“I researched multiple different training programs and approaches to try and find the best way to help control my overly excitable galoot of a Bernese pup, and the folks at Sit Means Sit were by far and away the most obvious choice. Everything about their instruction is focused on both the person and their dog learning TOGETHER, not simply drilling commands. The dedication of the trainers and love of their work is evident, and their success is delightfully undeniable when you meet their own dogs that come with them to work and see how beautifully behaved and happy they are. A billion stars, 1000% positive experience.”

“I cannot overly state how much Neil from Sit Means Sit helped me. I adopted a pitbull on death row, was told she was fine with other animals, and maybe she was in the shelter, but definitely not once at home. She attempted to maul my female pitbull, and I was helpless to change this behavior. Neil's patience, skill, and commitment completely transformed her. I highly recommend Sit Means Sit Dog Training of Westchester to anyone looking for effective and responsible dog training.”

“My 140lb mastiff is 1½ years old and behaves everywhere we go. Took him to a cul de sac party with 12 kids on bikes, scooters and electric cars. He sat by my side the whole time without needing any behavioral corrections. When the kids wanted they came to pet and play with him. He was friendly and welcoming without getting wild on them. The trainers really do stay with you for life after getting your dog trained at their facility. Definitely worth every penny.”

“Bailey, my 11 month old cockapoo is adorable but naughty. Hiding under the bed when I want to take him out and running across the street when I accidentally let go of the leash are a few of the things that prompted me to contact Neil. After working with Neil, Bailey sits on command even if there are squirrels running up the trees and comes when called. Neil did an amazing job with Bailey and I highly recommend him if you want a well behaved and obedient dog.”

“Ruby is a high energy golden doodle who would go into crouch position readying to lunge and bark like crazy at every dog on our walks. This stress made every walk a dreaded experience. Neill, Chris, Sam and Alexa are all incredibly kind and love dogs — they bring their own dogs to work. We can now walk Ruby in a heel position. When we see another dog, we tell her to sit and look at us instead of her former crazy aggressive barking and lunging. She is a pleasure to walk. I highly recommend this dog training business!”

“Neil, Samantha and the rest of the Sit Means Sit group are so kind, patient and welcoming. The minute you step inside and attend one of their classes, you can instantly tell just how much passion and love they have for dogs. I cannot recommend them enough!”

“Little Magnolia responded to 'come' and 'sit' after her very first session. Today, she graduated and is truly a dream dog. I can't say enough positive things, and we will continue to attend group classes as a reminder to us and Magnolia that lifelong practice is best. We also love these classes as part of a dog owner community. I really love all the knowledge both Maggie and my husband and I have gotten from these talented trainers.”

“I cannot say enough about how wonderful Neil and Sam have been with our 8-year-old, previously untrained rescue. From the first meeting with Neil, it was a completely different vibe. He listened to my concerns, anticipated behaviors before I explained them, and assured me we could work on the issues without changing his personality or creating a robot dog. While Orion is still working on his training, his ability to focus and ignore background issues has improved in an astounding way. Neil is truly what sets this location apart — his ability to connect with animals, understanding of behavioral issues, patience, and ability to explain things clearly is unmatched. I would definitely recommend Neil to any dog owners who struggle with their dogs.”

“We brought our 2-year-old golden retriever Biscuit to Sit Means Sit after he started showing aggression toward other dogs on leash. After just a few sessions, the transformation was incredible. Biscuit now walks calmly past other dogs without lunging or barking. The group classes have been fantastic for keeping the progress going. Worth every penny.”

“Our rescue shepherd mix Luna had severe anxiety and would destroy furniture whenever we left the house. The day train program worked wonders — she's a completely different dog. The trainers took the time to understand Luna's specific triggers and tailored the program accordingly. We've recommended Sit Means Sit to everyone in our neighborhood.”

“I was skeptical at first, but after seeing what Neil and the team did with our stubborn French Bulldog Pretzel, I'm a total believer. He used to bark at every person who walked by our house. Now he's calm and focused. The private lessons gave us tools we use every single day. Absolutely incredible program.”

“Ollie, our 9-month-old labrador, was a sweet but completely uncontrollable puppy — jumping on everyone, pulling on leash so hard I couldn't walk him. Lexi worked with him and with us for several weeks and now Ollie is a joy to be around. The lifetime group class access is a huge bonus we still use regularly.”

“Our pit bull mix was labeled 'unadoptable' at the shelter due to dog reactivity. We were told by multiple trainers he couldn't be fixed. Sit Means Sit proved them all wrong. Neil was calm, methodical, and never gave up on him. He's not perfect but he's manageable and happy — which is all we ever wanted. Can't thank this team enough.”

“Just finished the Day Train program with our 1-year-old aussie mix and I am blown away. She came in barely able to sit on command and left with a reliable sit, down, stay, come, and heel — even with distractions. The private lesson at pickup each week meant I was learning right alongside her. Group classes are a great add-on. Highly recommend.”

“What I appreciate most about Sit Means Sit Westchester is the philosophy. They don't just train your dog and send them home — they train you. My wife and I both came to every session and we both left knowing how to handle our dog in any situation. The difference between before and after is hard to put into words. Just call them.”

“Neil worked with our anxious rescue shepherd who had been to two other trainers with zero progress. Within the first few sessions we saw real change. What I appreciate most is that they train you alongside your dog — I now understand how to communicate with her in a way I never did before. The group classes are a fantastic community too.”

“Brought our 5-month-old golden to Sit Means Sit for puppy training and it was the best decision we made. Starting early made everything so much easier. Our puppy Max now walks on leash, comes when called, and sits patiently when guests arrive instead of leaping all over them. The lifetime group class access is a tremendous value.”

“Best investment we've made as dog owners. Our border collie mix was unmanageable — off-leash recalls were nonexistent, and she had started snapping at strangers. The day train program was perfect for our schedule. The team communicated with us throughout and the private lesson at pickup each week was incredibly valuable. She's now off-leash reliable in our neighborhood.”

“Honestly didn't think our 6-year-old lab Cooper could be retrained. He'd been pulling on leash and jumping on everyone since puppyhood and we'd tried everything. One month with Sit Means Sit and the difference is night and day. The private lessons gave us the tools to reinforce everything at home. The trainers are patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely care about the dogs and their owners.”

“We brought our rescue mix Bella to Sit Means Sit after she started showing serious anxiety on walks — cowering, freezing, lunging at anything that moved. The transformation has been remarkable. Neil and the team identified her triggers immediately and built a program around her specifically. She's a completely different dog on leash now. The group classes are a great ongoing resource.”
